2 Miles

Did another 2 miles tonight. I have been feeling down lately and it’s definitely effecting both how I eat and how I exercise. I don’t have the motivation to exercise. And where I’d ordinarily be more strict with myself when it comes to food, I let more things slide.

I’m mostly upset because I lost my iPod and it seems like I will not be finding it anytime soon. And running without it is difficult. I need the music to focus on for tempo and just as a general distraction from being tired. Also, if I don’t hear myself huffing and puffing, I feel less self conscious.

On Thursday I’m off to Falcon Ridge Folk Festival in Hillsdale, NY. I’ll be camping in a New York State Park in the Taconic Region. I’m so excited and can’t wait to enjoy every second of this time off from work. But eating will be difficult. It’s one of those places where there are food vendors all weekend long and the food is irresistible! Like giant potato pancakes, and delicious wraps that have eggs, avocado, cheese, sour cream, peppers, etc. We’re bringing a lot of our own produce and protein bars to try to fill us up so we can attempt to avoid the evil yummy temptations.

If all else fails, I always have my weekly 49 points to fall back on. Wish me luck!

Two days ago I had a weigh-in. I lost 1.4 pounds. Not bad. I guess this is where the weight loss starts to slow down? I hope not.
I will admit I fell off the wagon last night though. There was an Italian festival in Verplanck, NY that I was invited to by a few work friends. It wasn’t the food that tempted me to go - it was the prospect of reliving childhood via the rides! And of course once I was there, I had a hot dog, fries, and a banana daiquiri. And honestly, it wasn’t even worth it. None of that stuff tasted like I wanted it to. It was a waste of money and health.
Long story short, I was feeling guilty today and did a 3 mile jog after work. By the end of the summer, the hope is to complete a 5k race in a respectable amount of time.
